Today marks more or less today, 40 years ago, Bríd Anna Ní Bhaoill won the youth storytelling competition at that year’s Oireachtas na Samhna which was in full swing in Gaoth Dobhair. It was this particular story, ‘Spéirbhean Inis Duain’ recited to you here that she recited 40 years ago. She had the upper hand that day and was joined by two other Rann na Feirste runners-up, or Suzanne Gallagher and Maighréad Treasa Ní Dhonaill. Enjoy this friends.
